SYNOPSIS
Funny, passionate, and full of insights into life, love, children and low-fat muffins, this light-hearted musical looks at the lives of five very different women discovering how good it is to be "larger than life". Ange the high-power businesswoman, Marnie the sweet quirky girl who’s looking for love, Pat the Supermom, Charly the funny but cynical lesbian and Violet the tree-hugger - each of them is "too-something", but discovers that "Larger than life is just the right size."

PRODUCTION HISTORY
Larger Than Life was very successful for Western Canada Theatre and the Firehall Arts Centre when it premiered as a co-production in 2002. It was remounted to tour western Canada for a second year and played to sold-out, enthusiastic audiences in cities, suburbs and small towns. It also won the Vancouver Sun’s People’s Choice Award for Best New Script in its original Vancouver Fringe Festival Production in 2001. back to top

REVIEWS
"We had a huge hit this season with Larger Than Life: The Musical. [It] is so much fun, it is so uplifting, and it's aimed at the very centre of all our demographics, women between 30 and 60. We averaged over 400 people per night for our 9 night run, and the most often overheard comment was 'we want more plays like this.'" - David Ross, Artistic Producer, Western Canada Theatre.
Vancouver Courier: "This is a big-boned bal of a show: a full-bosomed musical that gives you a great big hug and sends you off feeling better about yourself...Larger Than Life really rocks. . . [It] makes you laugh and it might even make you mist up when it reminds you of your own unfulfilled dreams."
Georgia Straight: "Vanessa LeBourdais' music is a perfect complement to the whimsy of Lee's lyrics - the songs are consistently catchy and the arrangements, which make frequent use of killer five-part harmonies, are gorgeous. . . Fresh, original and fun, Larger Than Life is an unpretentious and celebratory look beyond the clutter of women's lives." back to top
